UKRCC Forum Member Jumps for Ragdolls!

Lorraine is a member of the UKRCC forum and approached us last year offering to help raise funds for our charitable trust.

She was moved to do this after reading Kieko and Milo's story, two Ragdolls who came into our care in October 2005, following months of neglect. They were both in a horrifying condition and it has taken three months of veterinary treatment, love and care to get them well and ready for a new home. To read their story, please visit here.

Lorraine planned to jump out of an aeroplane in a bid to raise money for the UKRCC and help us contunue our work for needy Ragdolls. Over the months and weeks leading uo to the jump, Lorraine worked hard promoting her planned jump for raggies and raising sponsorship. Unfortunately, due to unforseen circumstances, Lorraine was unable to make the jump as planned. Plans in ruins? No Way! Lorraine's neighbour, Claire, bravely stepped in and made the jump on behalf of the UKRCC. All the sponsors were informed of the changes and most were still very happy to honour their pledges. In additon Clare raised some sponsorship herself.

So on 13th April 2007, the Jump for Raggies did take place, at Black Knights Parachute Centre, Cockerham, Lancashire and Claire successfuly completed a 14,000ft freefall tandem skydive. She was blessed with a beautiful, warm, sunny day and the jump went brilliantly. Lorraine was there to support Claire on the day and witness for herself Claire's bravery! Well done Claire. There is a dvd of the jump, which will be available to view on the site soon.

The fantastic news is that the total raised so far by Lorraine's and Claire's efforts is £461, with money still to come in.

So huge heart felt thank yous...

To Claire for jumping and saving the day. You are a star!

To Lorraine, for having the idea, determination and courage to do the jump and the dedication to raise the sponsorship. I know you were disappointed that you could not jump yourself, but your chance will come, I am sure!

To every one who sponsored the jump and helped raise such a fantatsic amount for the UKRCC Ragdoll Rehoming and Welfare fund.

Thank you all from everyone at the UKRCC. Your support, dedication and contribution is so very much appreciated.

Claire, on the day of her jump
